01Ordering & delivery
How long does delivery take?
Each book is printed for your order and usually dispatched within 2–4 business days. Delivery then takes 7–15 business days. You will get a tracking number by email as soon as it ships.
Is shipping really free?
Yes — free tracked shipping on every order to the United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and the United Kingdom.
Do you offer a discount on more than one book?
Yes. Buy any two books and save 15%, or any three and save 25% — applied automatically at checkout. The Catholic Devotional Library gift set of all three is our best value.
Can I change or cancel my order?
Because each book is printed for you, we can change or cancel an order free of charge before it goes to print — usually within 12 hours of purchase. Email us at hello@ploughmanpress.com as soon as you can.
02The books
Are these the complete texts?
Yes — every word. We set each book in full from the original edition, proofread it line by line, and correct it against the first printing. In Julian of Norwich we keep Grace Warrack’s glosses on the old words but leave out her longer notes on the manuscripts.
Which translations do you use?
Thoughts of St. Thérèse: the 1915 translation by an Irish Carmelite, with its original Nihil Obstat and Imprimatur. Revelations of Divine Love: Grace Warrack’s 1901 version. True Devotion to Mary: Frederick William Faber’s 1863 translation, which includes the Act of Consecration in full.
What size are the books?
All our books are 5.5 × 8.5 inch hardcovers — easy to hold in the hand, and lovely together on a shelf.
Which book should I start with?
For a few quiet minutes a day, start with Thoughts of St. Thérèse — short thoughts, gathered by theme. For comfort in a hard season, Revelations of Divine Love. If you are preparing for Marian consecration, True Devotion to Mary. Can’t choose? The gift set has all three.
03Gifts
Can I send a book as a gift?
Yes — just enter their address at checkout and we ship it free, straight to their door. Many readers send our books to a mother or father, a godparent, a friend, their priest or their parish.
When should I order for Christmas?
For US delivery in time for Christmas, order by December 5. Other countries can take a little longer, so earlier is safer.
04Our guarantee
What if I’m not happy with my order?
Every book carries our 30-day guarantee. Email us and we will refund you in full. You do not need to send the book back — keep it, or pass it on to someone who will love it.
My book arrived damaged or with a printing fault.
We are so sorry! Email a photo to hello@ploughmanpress.com and we will send a replacement free of charge.
